What are some good books for a print designer looking to move to web design?
I am a 15+ year veteran of print design. I dabbled in some web design and simple HTML programming, GoLive, etc. in the past; however, between having on-site programmers and transitioning to a position with no web design opportunities, the technology has eclipsed me. I am looking to delve back into web design & programming on a freelance basis and I am wondering if there are any good books out there to get me started. Anything from design fundamentals to basics of programming would be fantastic.
I would recommend checking out the books available at sitepoint ( http://sitepoint.com ) - they have a lot of good resources available for web design. If you're also looking to showcase your skill you might want to try getting a certification in web design. logiczap ( http://logiczap.com ) provides certifications in html, css and php. Whatever route you choose I wish you good luck!
