Is it true that you can buy low priced french designer products from the french side of the virgin islands?
Being that the island is owned by "the french" I was told by a co worker that many of the french designer names are much cheaper than the US prices due to heavy taxes & duty charges we incur in the states. If this is true, has anyone ever bought from the islands and saved tons of money while on vacation? Where did you visit?
(My gf wants a Louis bag, and I figure it would be smarter / economical to make use out of the vacation i've planned. In addition to saving tons of money)
If that's the case then maybe I can finally buy the Tag watch i've always wanted! ;D

Heres the deal, St. Maartin has two sides to the island, a French side and a Dutch side. If you wanna see a ton of topless women and guys wearing speedos goto the French side but the Dutch side does have "designer stuff" for cheap, of course its all fake as hell but looks stunningly real from a quick look. Im talking LaCoste shirts, Gucci belts and Watches, Rolexs, any designer Purse, for all like $20 bucks. At a close look its definetly apparent their fake but it is fun to mess around and get some cheap stuff you can tell your friends is real, I will say though the Lacoste shirts look real and the only difference is the texture of the shirt is cheap. Have fun and dont buy from their asking price you can bargain with these people since all their shit is illegal as hell.
